SAKRIBAL
Spanish school was founded in the spring of 1995 with the
mission of providing outstanding service to our students as well
as to the Guatemalan population in general. We continue
achieving this mission through a combination of high quality
teaching and social awareness manifested through various
programs and activities, we count on the support and
participation of our students to achieve these aims.
SAKRIBAL is one of the only schools in Guatemala founded and
directed by a woman, our mission is to support other Guatemalan
women achieve their potential. We believe that education is the
key to the future which is why our core project is the funding
of scholarships for young indigenous girls who would otherwise
not have the opportunity to study.
To provide our students with a
professional learning experience in the classroom, while
also providing opportunities outside the classroom to live
the language and learn about Guatemalan culture.
To fund a monthly scholarship
program for young indigenous girls who would otherwise not
have the opportunity to study. Part of your tuition goes
towards directly to this fund.
To aid and support various
woman's cooperatives and shelters in Quetzaltenango.
To create a source of funds
and volunteers for these organizations.
To create a source of income
for our teachers and families.
To help women make a positive
contribution to their communities and achieve their
potential.
