Medical Spanish can take the form of classes only or classes combined with practical experience in a local clinic.

Classes will follow the same schedule as normal Spanish classes but will integrate medical vocabulary, medical phrases and questions which will allow you to communicate with patients.

We have specialized medical textbooks available for your use in school - we recommend you bring a Spanish / English medical dictionary and if you wish instruction in a particular specialization of medicine please advise in advance.

Clinic

To take full advantage of experience in the clinic we recommend you have at least intermediate Spanish, without which you will be restricted in what you can do.  Your clinical experience can take place while you are improving your Spanish or if you are a beginner, when you have achieved the required level

If you are already qualified as a Doctor but your Spanish level is low you can work with a translator

The clinic always need basic medical supplies - they welcome any unexpired medical supplies - please ask for a list of the most necessary items.
